Ascend by Midway Dispensary Launches in Chicago with New Modern Design
The Chicago Ridge location features 1,900 square feet of adult-use retail space designed to reflect evolving consumer needs and brand direction, creating 40 new local jobs in rapidly growing cannabis industry
Chicago Ridge, IL – (April. 8, 2021) – Ascend Wellness Holdings, LLC (“AWH”), a multi-state cannabis operator, announced today the opening of Ascend by Midway Dispensary, a state-of-the-art dispensary in Chicago Ridge. The location, at 9820 S. Ridgeland Ave, was designed to create a seamless in-store customer experience that reflects the new demands of a socially distant world driven by technology and e-commerce.
“This new location will provide improved access and increased supply to meet the growing demand of the market and create 40 new local jobs at a time when employment can be challenging,” said AWH Chief Revenue Officer, Chris Melillo.
Ascend by Midway in Chicago Ridge was designed to elevate the retail experience and maximize the efficiency of the transaction process. Convenient features like express pick-up and pre-reservation cut down on staff movement but still allow for fast and secure product flow throughout the dispensary. The open floor concept allows for customers to easily browse the curated product selection, 1,900 square feet of premium retail space provides abundant space for excellent customer experience while maintaining social distancing.

On December 14, 2020, AWH entered into an agreement to acquire Chicago Alternative Health Center, LLC and an affiliated entity, which operates the Midway Dispensary, an adult-use and medical cannabis dispensary, located at 5648 S. Archer Avenue. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval in all respects and if approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, the new dispensary would be the fourth AWH retail location in Chicago and its eighth in Illinois.
